James Fallows caught a truly amazing statement from President Bush. Bush does not know or recall why the Iraqi military was disbanded at the start of the occupation.
This is the Commander-in-Chief of our nation's armed forces?
How in the hell can Congress not be doing everything possible to stop this walking disaster of a president from doing any more damage?
On a tangential note, I see from the link that Fallows's truly excellent piece of reporting "Blind into Baghdad" about why the occupation has gone so poorly is available on-line. If you haven't yet read it I'd recommend taking a look.
