Ed Brayton notes that Stephen Hawking has responded to the
Investor's Business Daily article
which asserted that he would not stand a chance in the UK because of its nationalized health care system, despite the inconvenient fact that Hawking has lived his entire life in the UK. As Brayton points out, the article has now been updated to acknowledge that it erroneously implied Hawking does not live in the UK, but fails to realize that the ultimate error of the article is the claim that Hawking would not be able to survive under the UK's health care system. This would be a false claim regardless of whether or not he actually did live there.
