Ann Coulter: bigot

I'm going to put up a post later today that goes into the subject a little deeper, but until then here is the latest example of Ann Coulter's putrid hate-mongering on display:

Today, the Wall of Separation welcomes a guest post from AU Executive Director Barry W. Lynn. The following blog was originally posted at Beliefnet.com, where the Rev. Lynn debates leading Religious Right attorney, Jay Sekulow.

Jay, I want to get back to the very serious issue of the debate over health care in a few days, but I want to interrupt that flow with a point of personal privilege.

You see, I have been attacked by Ann Coulter…again. This one deserves an immediate response.

She has now claimed that I’m not a real minister - and not a real Christian - and has told readers that she would send a free copy of her newest book (sure to become another New York Times bestseller) to the first person who can send her a “copy of my bar mitzvah photos or birth announcement.”
Lynn goes on to mock Coulter's attack on him, and good for him, but I don't find Coulter's anti-Semitic attack on Lynn all that humorous. (He's not a real Christian, therefore he's a Jew!?) Recall Coulter's previous flirtation with outright anti-Semitism when she told MSNBC host Donny Deutch that "Christians" like herself just want Jews to be perfected.

When Coulter makes comments like these, it's a bit easier to understand the point I've been making for years now about the hatred she directs at "liberals" being equivalent to the hatred of bigots who hate others for ethnic or religious reasons (where as Coulter's are political.) Because here we have the confluence of Coulter's anti-Semitism and anti-liberalism; remember, when you consider the arguments Coulter has made in her books Treason, Slander, Godless, etc. she is implicitly and ultimately asserting that Lynn is a fake Christian, an atheist Jew communist who hates America and loves al Qaeda terrorists because "liberals" hate America by nature.
