In the article linked above, Hitchens recounts his experience of being waterboarded. It includes video and is worth reading. Indeed, I would go so far as to call it neccesary reading.

I read the article and it's pretty good. However, you have to wonder about someone who actually has to be waterboarded to consider it torture. It was pretty obvious to me years ago that it's torture after reading a simple description of it. I don't need for my friends to waterboard me to decide it's something my country shouldn't be doing.
