This article from yesterday's New York Times which examines religious social conservatives' views towards abortion and contraception and their influence on politics is one of the best pieces of journalism I've come across in a while. Well written and informative.
It went into the archive, so, unfortunately, you do need a subscription to read it. Sorry about that.
But you do not need a subscription to read the paper on a daily basis (except their star opinion columns). You can get full access to the paper with a free registration, with articles like this one being available for a week or so before they go into the archive.

Excellent article. Thanks. I have forwarded it along to a few friends.
Looks like we need a subscription to be able to read the article.
